As reported by Reuters, Google has been selling Sketch Up 3D design applications to Trimble Navigation. The reason, Google is to streamline the business which he considers unnecessary.

Google Sketch Up is so flexible and can work well with other 3D modeling applications such as AutoCAD, 3dsmax, Blender, and others. In fact, this application can be used by children and professional groups. This application is also available for free, and some are paid.

Google Sketch Up sold to Trimble Navigation. Trimble is a company focused in terms of equipment surveys, mapping, and marine navigation. With the takeover of the business, Trimble hopes to expand its business into the future.

"We found a partner (selling) the right to Sketch Up can continue to develop according to its main business," said Brian McClendon, Google Vice President of Engineering.

Although Sketch Up has been sold, Google will continue to partner with Trimble Navigation. This is particularly developed for Sketch Up 3D warehouse, a 3D online storage application that allows users to create, store, distribute or 3D applications.

"Sketch Up 3D warehouse and business integration will be the synergy of both companies in the future," added Vice President Bryn Fosburgh Trimble.

Google first bought Sketch Up in 2006. Initially, Sketch Up is a startup (a company pioneering the Internet) smaller than Colorado, United States. Until now, the number of users has more than 30 million.

Business sales will be officially in the middle of this year. Google will continue to ensure the free version of the application to limit the acquisition is completed. Unfortunately, Google does not explain how the sale of the business Sketch Up.
